Magnesium contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, normal psychological function, and normal muscle function, as well as maintaining the normal condition of bones and teeth.

Magnesium also contributes to the balance of electrolytes, the normal synthesis of proteins, the reduction of fatigue and tiredness, and the normal functioning of metabolic processes aimed at energy production.

Chelation is the process in which a specific form of chemical bonding between an inorganic molecule (metal ion) and an organic molecule (amino acid) makes two or more bonds to form a ring structure. The organic molecule holds the mineral like a claw, acting as a fence to protect the mineral from adverse interactions with other substances.

In the body’s natural process of digestion, organic acids, and amino acids are used to chelate minerals naturally to help transport them across the intestinal wall. Since the human body is very efficient in absorbing amino acids, minerals attached to amino acids will also be easily absorbed into the body. Once inside the body, the amino acids will be utilized by the body to build protein and release the attached minerals for bodily functions.
